The bow section is set into the sea wall on Olympic Drive at Milsons Point in Sydney.  The plaques are immediately behind this on Olympic Drive.

This memorial commemorates the sinking of the sinking on 9th Nov 1914 of the German raider "Emden"

Presented by the

Royal Australian Historical Society

to the Municipality of North Sydney

to commemorate the sinking

on the 9th November, 1914

of the German raider "Emden"

by H.M.A.S. Sydney

 

This famous relice, which was erected here

by the North Sydney Municipal Council

was unveiled by the Hon. N.J.O. Makin, M.P,

Minister for the NAVY, on 9th November 1941
