Description / Background

The Lyndhurst Memorial Hall was originally built in honour of those who served in the First World War. Two marble honour rolls of names fllank the entrance doors. The hall, with the rolls already in place, was officially opened on 6 June 1925.

The hall was destroyed by fire on 25 January 1944. Planning to rebuild the hall started in 1946.

Located outside are the Lyndhurst and District Second World War Memorial Gates.
