It is located in Victoria Park in St Marys, NSW and is surrounded by a fence. The foundation stone for the rotunda was laid on 25 February 1922 and the memorial was unveiled on 28 October the same year. A small plaque has also been attached to honour Second World War, Korea and Vietnam veterans. Notes on veterans' names: No record of deceased veterans with the following names can be found from this area: W J Dolan, W Fenning, J Gardener, C Hale, L Phillips. The status of these veterans has been given as killed in action (KIA), as that is what is indicated on the memorial. All other status codes are taken from information in the Australian War Memorial Roll of Honour and the National Archives of Australia. On the memorial, C Mallard may be given as G Mallard and Tingcombe may be given as Tinccombe.
