Additional Sydney Trains information: This memorial consists of two brass plaques fixed to the front face of a rough-hewn granite plinth, facing Marius Street. The larger of the two plaques is shaped like an open book, with a map of Australia on the left and a list of the names of local Tamworth men who served in Vietnam on the right. The plinth sits within a paved semi-circle, with a brick retaining wall behind on which memorial brass plaques commemorating the deaths of returned servicemen are mounted. The dedication plaque is fixed to the rear of the granite. This monument, along with several other war memorials, is located in front of Tamworth Railway Station in Railway War Memorial Park. It lies within the curtilage of heritage-listed train station. Inscription Plinth - front - top plaque Vietnam War Memorial. Lest we forget.
