The Ariah Park Memorial Hall is a cream-coloured building made from concrete bricks with an iron roof. An interesting feature of the building is the high facade at the front of the building which displays the distinctive architectural detail typical of the Art Deco period of the 1920s and 1930s. The foundation stone was laid by Councillor Davis W. Eddis, President of the Narrabunda Shire Council on 1 November 1952 and was later officially opened by him on Friday 14 May 1954.
In April 1952 the original Ariah Park Hall (which had been built some forty years earlier) was destroyed as the result of a fire. By the following August, the Ariah Hall Park Memorial Hall Committee and Literary Institute had applied for the provisional approval of plans and specifications for construction of a new hall on the same site.
To raise funds for the new hall, an Ugly Man Competition was held in June 1953 with an afternoon sports day and grand carnival. At the time, the estimated cost of the new hall was reported to be 12,200 pounds. Upon its opening in May 1954 the hall included a stage, seating, a dance floor made of tallow wood, dressing rooms, a supper room, two offices, a foyer, an operating box and a modern kitchen. In recent years the hall continues to be used by the local community for various purposes, including as a childcare centre.
