Description / Background

The memorial is a timber roll of honour, for those from Emmaville and districts who served in the Second World War, Korea, and Vietnam. It is a simple, rectangular board, with a moulded timber frame. The top of the board is decorated with two gold Rising Sun military emblems. The names are also printed in gold, out of alphabetical order, in columns in the centre of the board. While there is a sub-heading for Korea, no names are listed under it.

The roll was once located in the Emmaville War Memorial Hall but has since been moved to the military room at the Emmaville Mining Museum. It was replaced by a newer version of the roll, which is on display at the entrance to the hall. It is listed separately on the NSW War Memorials Register as the Emmaville & District Second World War, Korea and Vietnam Honour Roll. Most of the veterans listed on the older roll also appear on the newer roll.
