Description / Background

The memorial is a double-sided interpretative panel. The text on the panel provides a historical outline of the Second World War and the homefront. It also features a number of historical photographs. The panel is made of metal and is supported by two timber posts, which are secured to a concrete footing.

The memorial was dedicated on Anzac Day, 25 April 2020. It is one of four similar panels located on a walkway leading to the Gloucester Memorial Clock Tower. The other panels describe Australia's involvement in the First World War, Korea and Vietnam.

The memorial is located in Gloucester Memorial Park, which is a venue for commemorative services.
