Description

This plaque includes a dedication to Private Jack Sydney West, service number NX47833, who died at the Sandakan Prisoner of War camp in Borneo during the Second World War. The plaque is mounted on a timber backing board and also includes inscriptions for two of Jack's relatives. 

In 2023, the plaque was moved from St Mark's Anglican Church in Nimbin and installed inside St Andrew's Anglican Church in Lismore. It is located next to the St Andrew's Anglican Church Sandakan Memorial Window

Access to the memorial is restricted to the opening hours of the church.
