Description / Background

The memorial is a large timber honour roll. At the top is a carved pediment, topped with a simple Latin Cross, which is highlighted in gold. Within the pediment are decorative floral motifs, also in gold, and the Union Jack and Australian Red Ensign. The names are divided into three columns, and are painted in gold in the centre of the board. Attached at the base of the board is a carved piece of timber, with a similar shape to the pediment, which balances the overall look of the memorial.

The roll was made by Mr A.E. Fowler. It was dedicated by Dr Druitt, the Bishop of Grafton, at St John's Anglican Church, Coffs Harbour on 22 June 1917. The Coffs Harbour Advocate, 27 June 1917, described the event in detail, and listed the names of those who served.

The memorial has since been moved to the Coffs Harbour Regional Museum. Access to the roll is restricted to the opening hours of the museum.
