Description / Background

A low sandstone memorial wall, with three polished and engraved black stone panels and two smaller sandstone slabs. The three emblems of the armed forces are displayed on plaques attached to the sandstone at intervals. From left to right they are the Royal Australian Navy, Australian Army and Royal Australian Air Force.

The memorial was originally a small sandstone wall with two plaques and one engraved black stone slab (pictured). Later, the additions described above were added, then a small rock garden surrounding the monument.

The community holds Anzac Day and Remembrance Day services at this site.

Inscription

Central black stone

Lest we forget.

They went with songs to the battle they were young, straight of limb true of eye, steady and aglow. They were staunch to the end, against odds uncounted they fell with their faces to the foe. They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them nor the year condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them. Lest we forget.
