Description / Background

This memorial was originally a short rectangular pillar with a gold lettered engraved insert (pictured). It had been relocated from Memorial Place Belmont (formerly Macquarie Street) to Cullen Park Belmont. It has since been upgraded and the new memorial was dedicated on 18 February 2015. New features include:

  • 11 new plaques.
  • Gold lettered engraved insert inscription to those who served 1914-1918, 1939-1945, and all other conflicts.
  • Insignia badges for the Australian Commonwealth Military Forces, MN Australia, Australian Royal Navy, Australian Women's Services and Australian Royal Air Force.
  • Plaques for Korea, Iraq, Malaya, Vietnam and Afghanistan.
