A marble column set on a marble plinth, with the inscription on the front face. It is surmounted by a sculpture of an open Bible with a shawl draped over it, partially covering the front of the column and hanging down over a relief sculpture of a rifle on the right hand side. There is a relief sculpture of a laurel wreath above the inscription, with a star in the middle of it. The star has a design of one vertical line flanked by curved lines in its centre.
In Loving Memory of No. 2362 Lce Cpl A.E. Howard (ABB) A Company 30th Battalion A.I.F. Killed in France 29th Sept. 1918 Aged 26 Years and 8 months. Only Son of T.H. Howard.
