Kootingal 75th Anniversary of Gallipoli Landings and Arthur Hillier Memorial Lone Pine

A Lone Pine Tree, accompanied by a bushrock with a plaque attached. The tree is located in Memory Park, Kootingal.

In commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Gallipoli landings and in memory of Arthur Hillier, who was killed at Lone Pine, August 1915.

This tree was grown from a seed of the ALEPPO PINE at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra, which originated from a lone pine on Plateau 400 on the Gallipoli Peninsula. It was propagated by Fred Hillier and planted by Tim and Toby Hillier, great grandchildren of Arthur, on ANZAC Day, 1990.
