This honour roll is a cast bronze plaque, which lists the names of 42 Metropolitan Water Sewerage and Drainage Board (M.W.S. & D.B.) staff killed during the First World War. It has an elegant design, featuring a laurel wreath at the top surrounding the Australian Commonwealth Military Forces emblem.
The roll is approximately 800x1500mm in size and is one of a matching set. Its pair is listed separately on the NSW War Memorials Register as the M.W.S. and D.B. Second World War Honour Roll.
The memorial was unveiled by the Governor of NSW, Sir Walter Davidson, on 29 August 1919 (The Sydney Morning Herald, 30 August 1919). It was originally located in the Sydney Water office on Pitt Street in Sydney. Sydney Water sold this building and moved the roll to its Potts Hill site.
Please note, this memorial is in storage and not accessible to the public.
