Cast bronze plaque with bas relief bust of Maj. Gen Holmes, roughly 500x500mm. Mounted below the plaque is a glass topped wooden box containing the honour roll of Metropolitan Water Sewerage and Drainage Board (M.W.S. & D. B.) staff who enlisted in the First and Second World Wars.
In memoriam, Major General William Holmes, CMG DSO VD, Secretary to the Board 1895-1917, killed in France on active service 2nd July 1917.
