Description / Background

A brass sundial atop a red granite pillar. Around the sundial is an inscription highlighted in white. A dedication and honour roll is etched into the sides of the pillar, and also coloured white. The memorial is set on a concrete base and concrete paving, surrounded by a 180 degree red brick wall and two vase stands, one on either side. 

Notes on veterans' names:

  • W A Dickson and R A Gould both have no known grave.
  • L W Sanders may have been accidentally killed according to information in the Auckland Museum Cenotaph database.
  • All other status codes have been confirmed using information contained in the Australian War Memorial Roll of Honour, the Commonwealth War Graves Commission database, the World War Two Nominal Roll and the National Archives of Australia.
