Description / Background

This honour roll located inside the Coogee Surf Life Saving Club commemorates those who served in the Second World War. It is a plain timber board with a simple peak at the top and no border. The name of the Coogee Surf Life Saving Club is written in an arc in gold lettering at the top of the board.

There are 187 veterans listed in gold lettering in three columns across the board. The list is divided into three sections under the headings Navy, Army and Air Force, with 24 veterans listed under Navy, 82 veterans listed under Army and 81 veterans listed under Air Force. The names in each section are not in alphabetical order. The nine service personnel who fell in the war are identified with a gold circle in front of their names.

The honour roll is available for viewing during Club opening hours.
