Description / Background

The memorial is a polished red granite obelisk mounted on a tiled plinth with a granite plaque at the front of the base. The dedication to all ex-servicemen and women from the Kurrajong District who have served Australia is written in incised gold lettering on the plinth plaque. The memorial, located within the Memorial Park, is surrounded by a chain fence and set on a paved area in front of a concrete wall displaying the mounted emblems of the Australian Military Forces, Royal Australian Navy, Royal Australian Air Force and Australian Women's Services.

The memorial was established by the Kurrajong RSL and community. It was dedicated by His Excellency Rear Admiral Peter Sinclair AC on 19 January 1996.
