Description / Background

This memorial is a Roll of Honour board made from white marble which was originally unveiled in the Leadville Church of England church. It lists the names of 39 men and women from the Leadville area who served during the First World War. The names of the four who were killed in action are indicated with a + symbol next to their names.

The top of the board has a classical pediment form with a stylised Australian Military Forces Rising Sun emblem carved in the centre with cannons positioned on either side. The overall shape of the board takes the form of a classical temple. The names are listed in black in three columns in the large rectangular section below. As the names are recorded roughly in alphabetical order it is likely that the Roll of Honour was unveiled after the end of the war.

The Leadville Church of England was sold in around 2015 at which point this memorial was moved to the Leadville Hall.
