Description / Background

The memorial is a grey obelisk, positioned on upper and lower granite plinths. The names of men from the district who served in the First and Second World Wars are incised on the sides of the monument.

The memorial continues to act as a focal point for commemoration of those from Lockhart District. It is a place for reflection on the effects of loss on the Lockhart community and society. Anzac Day is commemorated at this memorial each year at 9am, followed by a march at 10.30am from the township to the Hebden Street memorial.
