Description / Background

The Maroubra Cenotaph consists of a curved brick and concrete memorial wall which has over 120 brass name plaques mounted onto it. These plaques are in memory of deceased service personnel who were members the Maroubra RSL sub-Branch. In the area in front of the wall is a concrete plinth with a flagpole mounted on the top. The current cenotaph was rededicated on 12 December 1995 to the Maroubra RSL sub-Branch and officially unveiled by the Mayor of Randwick City Council, C. Rastic.

Included in proximity to the cenotaph is a statue depicting a First World War soldier and two stone pillars with plaques on top which are located at the entrance to the paved path leading up to the cenotaph.
