Description / Background

Honour board crafted from Tasmanian Oak by Gary Tyrie from Upper Lansdowne, located inside the Killabakh Public Hall. Works were costed as $660, with inscription in gold-leaf at $550.

The memorial was planned in 2005 when members of Killabakh Community Association Inc decided to refurbish the local War Memorial, located outside the hall. The board lists the same names as appear on the marble plaques installed as part of the refurbishment of the external memorial, honouring veterans from the First and Second World Wars who had been residents of Killabakh when they enlisted.

The board matches the style and presentation of the Wingham District honour roll which is also located inside the hall.

Note on veteran's name: The Australian War Memorials' Roll of Honour gives the rank of Private to J Woollard.
