Description / Background

The memorial is a black stone block, with a bronze plaque. It sits on a plinth made of concrete bricks, in a raised bed of scoria. There is a flagpole behind the block.

The memorial is located at the entrance to the Bathurst Sheep and Cattle Drome in Heritage Park. The park property was an Army camp from 1940 until the end of the Second World War.
